Owned and operated by a marine biologist and professional underwater photographer, Liquid Cosmos Divers is driven by a love for ocean exploration and conservation.

What We Do

We specialize in creating customized diving experiences that showcase the vibrant, pristine coral reefs of the Kohala Coast. Our small-group charters allow us to tailor each dive to your interests, while giving you access to remote areas of the coastline that few operators explore. The Liquid Cosmos Divers team brings extensive knowledge of Hawaiʻi’s reefs and a passion for teaching, offering detailed briefings, underwater interpretation, and post-dive debriefings that leave every diver with a deeper understanding and connection to the reef ecosystem.

Dedicated to marine conservation, we actively contribute to protecting Hawaiʻi’s reefs through regular reef clean-ups, supporting local research, donating 1% of all sales to marine conservation efforts, minimizing plastics and other waste, following a strict no-touch policy with wildlife, and promoting reef stewardship to every diver.

Liquid Cosmos Divers is family-owned and operated by Jess and Mike, a duo united by a love of the ocean and a commitment to conservation. Jess is a marine biology Ph.D. student at the University of Hawaiʻi, specializing in coral reef ecology, and brings boundless enthusiasm to every dive as a scuba instructor, scientific diver, and underwater photographer. She loves sharing her knowledge of marine life and helping divers of all levels connect with the reef. Mike is a professional underwater photographer, scuba instructor, commercial diver, and USCG captain, whose safety-first approach ensures every dive is both fun and secure. With a background as a pre-vet student and a former death metal drummer, he brings unique expertise and energy to teaching divers of all experience levels. Together, they combine science, adventure, and conservation to create unforgettable, educational, and responsible diving experiences for fellow ocean-minded explorers.

Our Vessel

Our vessel, Moonshine, is the newest dive boat on the Big Island! Designed by Mike and Jess and built by Inventech Marine Solutions, she is a custom 31’ LifeProof Boat that is the perfect adventure vessel.
